Gary Clark LLB BEc

Gary commenced his legal career in the Western District of Victoria undertaking Articles with well-known compensation Lawyer, Austin Stringer. After completing his Articles in 1982, Gary quickly became a partner and in 1989 became the sole proprietor of the firm, Stringer Clark.

Gary built this firm into one of the largest compensation and personal injuries practices in country Victoria.

Throughout the 1990’s the firm expanded, opening offices in Warrnambool and Hamilton as well as visiting Ararat and Horsham. Under Gary’s guidance, the firm Stringer Clark became renowned for acting on behalf of the injured people and the less fortunate in the Western District. Gary, in partnership with the SouthWest District Trades & Labor Council, led many battles in the Western District in an effort to maintain the rights of injured people. As recognition of his services to the Western District, Gary was awarded the prestigious Bob McClure Award by the SouthWest District Trades & Labor Council.

Gary has significant experience in all facets of personal injuries and compensation law including TAC, medical malpractice, worker’s compensation, Commonwealth compensation as well as public liability and asbestos claims. Gary brings to the practice of Clark Toop & Taylor a vast amount of practical, hands on experience in the assessment and management of personal injuries compensation claims. Gary has sustained two serious spinal injuries and understands the impact which serious spinal injuries have upon individuals and their families.

Gary's reputation within the legal community is extremely high. He is regularly asked to participate in consultancy committees, speak at seminars and provide expert opinions in respect to the conduct of personal injuries compensation matters.

Gary's working class and sporting background allows him to understand the day to day problems which injured people face and provides him with the means to effectively and clearly communicate with people.

Gary is a "no nonsense, straight-down-the-line" practitioner who has the ability to very quickly get to the real issues of the matter and to provide sensible, practical advice.

Gary is married with two children.
